Bistro Soleil, a restaurant attached to The Olde Marco Inn, is a local spot to grab a quick bite to eat with a bit more luxury than a regular cafe. Run by Chef Denis Meurge from France, and his wife Lisa, Bistro Soleil prides itself on serving “authentic gourmet French cuisine.” This authentic French cuisine takes a break for our traditional American holiday as Bistro Soleil provides an authentic Thanksgiving buffet for Marco Island residents and visitors.
On November 28th, Thanksgiving Day, beginning at noon, Bistro Soleil is accepting reservations for their holiday feast. Varying from non-traditional Thanksgiving foods like lobster bisque, smoked salmon, and key lime pie while incorporating dishes like roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and more. Of course, Bistro Soleil is celebrated for its delectable seafood, so it’s no surprise that it’s making an appearance this Thanksgiving! A guest of the restaurant during a past Thanksgiving buffet writes that it was a “wonderful Thanksgiving dinner…the cozy and warm atmosphere make this restaurant a real ‘treat’ for the holidays.” They said it best!
Holiday Shopping in Marco Island
Now that it’s November, the temperature is dropping more every day as we eek closer to winter. For warm-weather lovers or those who need an escape from the cold, Marco Island is the perfect getaway. The predicted weather for Marco Island on Thanksgiving Day is 81 degrees and mostly sunny, which sounds fantastic right about now! While temperatures across the country are fluctuating, Floridians are nice and warm throughout the holiday season.
Another excellent aspect of visiting Marco Island at this time of year is the opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done! The shopping center, only a few minutes from Marco Island Lakeside Inn, is loaded with local shops (and some chain stores if that’s your thing)! The Marco Town Center Mall is referred to as “the center of it all” due to the vast array of stores and restaurants, not to mention the live shows and concerts. Additionally, the Esplanade Shoppes are a collection of “coastal Italian-style” stores. A short 5-minute drive from Marco Island Lakeside Inn, these shops – reachable by car or boat – are well worth the trip.
While you’re in town for a delicious Thanksgiving buffet at Bistro Soleil, check out Night Lights in the Naples Botanical Garden! The day after Thanksgiving, Saturday, November 29th (and going until December 23rd), Naples Botanical Garden will light up a path for patrons to enjoy, along with live music and tasty food! Tickets start at $15 for adults and $8 for kids, with children under four allowed in free of charge.
In Naples, a few minutes from Marco Island, you can catch the annual Christmas tree lighting at The Village Shops, also on Saturday, November 29th! Santa will visit the Village Shops, and provide lots of family-friendly activities like face painting and a “magical snow show”!
